December 2002
Neuron is shipping! After months of intensive beta testing and sounddesign the first units are leaving our facilities to be spread to our distribuors around the world. From there Neuron synthesizers will be shipped to key MI retailers. We are confident that, in time, we will be able to meet the demand for this new kind of instrument.
As you can see from the picture on the right, the UPS guy is also happy to support us and help make Neuron a complete success. We hope, that some of the units will stay in the stores for a little while (...uhh, most of them are already sold...), so that you will have the chance to touch and hear the instrument, not just virtually!

November 2002
Welcome Back! For the past few months, you may have asked yourself: are they really telling the truth, or is it all just hype? Maybe, Neuron doesn’t even exist? None of it is true. We’re still here and we’re confident that our “baby” will be available very soon: the first units are expected to ship in December. Thanks to all who have sent us encouraging emails!
A lot has happened over the past few months. On the outside, Neuron has become even more attractive. The design has been changed slightly to accomodate a larger front panel, giving the synth a more “spacious” look. On the inside, even more changes have been made. An impressive operating system with many clever details plus new and expanded resythesis functionality has been added in the past few weeks.
But it will be a few more weeks until you will be able to experience Neuron live in your area. However, maybe you would like to get a first impression of Neuron’s sounds? We’ve uploaded the first batch of audio demo clips to this website. Check out the download section now!

April 2002
Hartmann and NEURON are the talk of the town! Respected US KEYBOARD magazine features NEURON on its April Issue cover page. The editors are reporting: "By far the biggest buzz at NAMM was about the Neuron (…) it's a whole new way to create sound".
UK Future Music magazine features a full interview with Axel Hartmann. After giving readers a look at the story behind NEURON and the company behind it, Axel is giving us a glimpse of his own vision into the future of music making: "There will be more tactile control coming back to the desktop of the musicians. There will be more dedicated, special instruments with soul and character. There will be even more fun instruments to play and experience music with, even for "non-musicians." Axel, if this is the future, we're looking forward to it!

NEURON had its second public appearance at the Frankfurt Musikmesse. Again, the audience was excited about the innovative and fresh concept. Many who heard about NEURON in the press coverage of the NAMM show, came by to find out if it's really true. Reactions confirmed: NEURON stands up to the expectations - even though it was almost impossible to fight against a wall of noise with delicately metalized piano models, played through 6,5" speakers.

NEURON receives a Blue Ribbon Award from respected EQ magazine (USA). EQ's coveted Blue Ribbon Awards are presented in recognition for those products that represent the most innovative design and feature set for assisting professional musicians, engineers, and producers in their creative endeavors. According to EQ, NEURON met and surpassed their high standards. Everyone in the Hartmann team is proud of this award. It makes the engineers work even harder to get NEURON ready for shipping.

NEURON debuts at the 2002 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California. One of the best-kept secrets of the music industry is finally unveiled. Considered by many the most innovative new synthesizer of the show, NEURON is taking industry professionals and press by surprise. Despite technical problems with the demo units, which were severely damaged during transport from Germany, NEURON impressed the audience with fresh new sounds, innovative design and a revolutionary concept. Look at some snapshots from the show here. When you see Bob Moog, Marcus Ryle, and Tom Oberheim sharing time and space - it must mean something.
